The Ole Halvorsen Family
The Family of Ole Halvorsen and Mari Olsdatter (the Birth Family of the Paternal Grandmother of the Editor's Paternal Grandfather), on the Rindahl Farm, Faaberg Parish, Oppland County, Norway. Ole Halvorsen was a great-grandfather of the editor's paternal grandfather. Ole's Døpte reports he was born on January 25, 1780. His father was 39-year-old Halvor Christensen of Rindahl; his mother was 40-year-old Eli
Halvorsdatter. Ole's baptismal witnesses were Ole (perhaps Guri's husband) and 38-year-old Guri Thorgersdatter (a Widowed Farmer in 1801) of
Rindahl, Jon of (?), Sønnev of (?), and Ole Johansen of (?). Ole Halversen appears, in the 1801 Census, as a 21-year-old Unmarried Soldier on the Rindahl farm. Then, four years later, he appears as Ole Halversen of Rindal in the Døpte of his daughter, Anne Olsdatter, who was born August 25, 1805. Anne's baptismal witnesses were 11-year-old Christen Peders of Skieggestad, 63-year-old Guri Thorgersdatter of Rindahl, 40-year-old Servant Kari Johansdatter of Rindal (note: no "h" in spelling), 16-year-old Berthe Simensdatter of Borud, and 52-year-old Farmer Ole Erichsen of Bratberg.
Note: in his familytree file, the editor finds Mari Olsdatter as the name of Ole Halvorsen's wife, but at this writing, the editor is unable to find a source document to support the entry. |
