The Ole Jensen Family

The Family of Ole Jensen and Marthe Frideriksdatter (the Birth Family of the Paternal Grandfather of the Editor's Paternal Grandmother), on the Malterud Store Farm, Toten Parish, Oppland County, Norway. Ole Jensen was a great-grandfather of the editor's paternal grandmother. The 1801 Census reports that 52-year-old Farmer Ole Jensen and his wife, 52- year-old Marthe Frideriksdatter, were at that time residents on the Malterud Store farm, in Toten parish.

The editor has no information regarding the parents of Ole and Marthe.

On October 24, 1771 (almost 30 years before the 1801 Census) 22-year-old Marthe Frideriksdatter gave birth to Johannes Olsen, whose Døpte reports he was the son of Ole [Jensen of] Malterud and Marthe Frideriksdatter. The Toten Økomuseum confirms 1771 as the year of Johannes Olsen's birth.

In the Census of 1801, we find 32-year-old Cottar with land Johannes Olsen (Ole and Marthe's son) residing on the Malterud Lille farm with his wife, Berte Hansdatter, and their three children (aged 9, 7 and 4).
